Police: Paterson Man, 30, Killed In Newark Shooting

A Paterson man died at the hospital after being shot in Newark over the weekend, authorities said.

Dashon S. Ragland, 30, was shot on the 900 block of Frelinghuysen Avenue around 5:37 p.m. Sunday, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said in a joint release.

Ragland was transported to University Hospital and pronounced dead shortly before 6 p.m., authorities said.

No arrests in the case were reported as of Tuesday afternoon.
